Canada’s DHX Media has exclusively licensed a newly greenlit second season of its original animated series Supernoobs to Turner’s Cartoon Network channels in EMEA and Asia Pacific, as well as DHX Television’s Family Channel in Canada.
The 26 x 22-minute series will be produced by DXH’s animation studio in Vancouver. Season two will see 12-year-old superheroes Kevin, Tyler, Shope and “the Roach” begin to master their powers in their ongoing fight to battle the villainous Count Venamus.
Supernoobs targets kids ages six to 11 and is the brainchild of Johnny Test creator Scott Fellows. The comedy was originally developed with, and commissioned by, Corus Entertainment for Teletoon.
The first season of the series was recently snapped up by Hulu, which acquired the show’s exclusive US SVOD and FVOD rights. Supernoobs season two also follows an 83% increase in revenue for DHX in Q1 2018, which was primarily driven by the company’s acquisition of Peanuts.
