Canadian family media company Brain Power Studio has begun delivery of The Ponysitters Club, its new children’s live-action drama produced in partnership with Discovery Kids Latin America.
Based on the book by Victoria Carson, the 20 x 22-minute series follows 12-year-old Skye, a struggling student who forms The Ponysitters Club to help with her growing responsibilities at her mother’s Rescue Ranch for horses and ponies.
The series is currently in production with Brain Power’s Beth Stevenson and Nancy Yeaman executive producing. David Finley is the show’s head writer, while Justin G. Dyck, Marco Deufemia and Emma Jean Sutherland are sharing director’s roles.
Brain Power holds global rights to The Ponysitters Club and is managing its distribution. Additional support is being provided by Canada’s Shaw Rocket Fund.
The launch follows Discovery Kids LatAm’s September pick-up of Brain Power’s new feature-length live-action film, A Witches’ Ball, which sold to Discovery Networks and bowed on Discovery Family US in October.
