Genius Brands International has appointed Imprint, a part of Macmillan Children’s Publishing Group, as the global master publishing partner for its preschool brand Rainbow Rangers.

Imprint will develop a line of books–including picture books, leveled readers, story books and board books–for release in 2019.

Previously announced licensing partners for Rainbow Rangers include Mattel-owned Fisher-Price (master toy), Bentex (master apparel), Handcraft Manufacturing (underwear), Global Design Concepts (bags, backpacks), Jay Franco (bedding, bath), H.E.R. Accessories (jewelry, hair accessories) and TASTE Beauty (health, beauty).

Consumer products are set to begin rolling out in the US in spring 2019, continuing through back-to-school and holiday.

CGI-animated Rainbow Rangers is currently in production, with the 52 x 11-minute episodes set to premiere on Nickelodeon’s Nick Jr. in the US next year. Rainbow Rangers follows Earth’s First Responders, a group of seven girls dedicated to protecting people, animals and the environment.
