Cartoon Network has picked up new animated comedy Wishfart for the UK, Africa and Israel from Canadian distributor and producer Bejuba! Entertainment. Discovery Italy, meanwhile, has also acquired rights to the 20 x half-hour series.
Created by Dan Williams, Lienne Sawatsky and John Hazlett, Wishfart follows a teen leprechaun named Dez who is new to granting wishes. The series is commissioned by Teletoon Canada with Bejuba! handling global distribution rights.
CITV also recently picked up free-TV rights to the toon, becoming the first broadcaster beyond Teletoon to acquire the series.
Wishfart was recently featured in Kidscreen‘s roundup of Cool New Shows coming through the production pipeline.
