Xilam forges new sales in Asia

France’s Xilam Animation has inked a number of deals with Asian broadcasters for Mr Magoo, Oggy and the Cockroaches (pictured) and Zig and Sharko.

Cartoon Network Asia has picked up upcoming 78 x seven-minute animated series Mr Magoo to air in Southeast Asia, Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Australia, India, the Indian subcontinent and New Zealand in 2018. The kidcaster also scooped up seasons six and seven of Oggy and the Cockroaches for its channels next year. Previous seasons of Oggy run on Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon, Netflix and Amazon in Asia.

Chinese distributor Jetsen Huashi Wangju Kids has acquired digital rights to season one of Zig and Sharko, which will be released next year across its VOD platforms. Seasons one and two of Zig and Sharko currently broadcast on Disney Channel in Southeast Asia, Japan and South Korea.

China’s UYoung, which also airs Oggy and the Cockroaches, has also secured TV and VOD rights to preschool toon Paprika and kids wildlife series If I were an Animal.
