The Alpha Group US has landed a global distribution deal with Netflix for its animated preschool co-pro Super Wings. The show’s first two seasons are now available on Netflix in North America, as well as in parts of Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
A co-production from China’s Alpha Group, Korea’s Funny Flux Entertainment and New York’s Little Airplane Productions, Super Wings follows a plane named Jett as he and his friends travel around the world delivering packages to children and solving problems. The show focuses on issues of creative problem-solving, cultural diversity and the environment.
In addition to the deal with Netflix, Super Wings is also launching on Sony Pictures Television Network’s UK-based, free-to-air children’s TV channel Tiny Pop. The show’s first season begins airing on the channel today, with episodes airing twice daily throughout the week.
Super Wings has previously inked agreements with broadcasters in the US (Universal Kids), Germany (KiKA), France (TF1), Russia (Carousel), Italy (Cartoonito), Canada (Treehouse), Portugal (Canal Panda) and Spain (Clan). Additionally, the series airs with a number of VOD platforms, as well as on Amazon Prime and YouTube.
Alpha’s line of Super Wings toys includes playsets and transforming characters, and is available both online and through major retailers worldwide.
