Discovery Kids LatAm has snapped up season five of the hit animated series from Toronto, Canada-based 9 Story Media Group.

The wildlife-themed co-production between Kratt Brothers Company and 9 Story Media Group was created and developed by real-life brothers and zoologists Martin and Chris Kratt, who star as 2D-animated versions of themselves in the show. (Season five comprises 20 episodes bringing the total episode count to 138.)

Discovery Kids has previously licensed various seasons of the series for its channels in India and Asia. Other LatAm broadcasters to take the series include Familia Play (Colombia), Canal Futura (Brazil), Canal 22 (Mexico) and TNU (Uruguay).

Since bowing on PBS KIDS in the US in 2011 and on TVO, Knowledge Network and Télé-Quebec in Canada, Wild Kratts has aired in more than 180 countries across 18 different languages.

Notable broadcasters airing the program include Pop (UK), RTE (Ireland), Super RTL (Germany), Canal Panda (Spain), Jeem TV (Middle East), Noga (Israel), 9 Network Go! (Australia), MediaCorp (Singapore) and TVB (Hong Kong). Chinese national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) also recently secured the series for its CCTV-14 kids channel.

Kratt Brothers Company distributes the series and manages licensing for the brand within North America, while 9 Story handles all international distribution and licensing rights.
