German free-to-air broadcaster Super RTL has acquired picked up eOne’s Peppa Pig. Brand new episodes of the seventh season of the his preschool series, which have never aired in Germany, will be available in March.
The broadcaster’s licensing division has also been tapped to rep Peppa Pig in Germany, with a focus on finding new partners. It will also take over management of existing relationships with licensees in the region.
TV Tokyo and Nordic broadcasters–NRK (Norway), DR (Denmark), YLE (Finland) and SVT (Sweden)–have also picked up the series in the past year.
The new broadcast deals come at a time when eOne is focusing its efforts on growing Peppa Pig location-based attractions through a multi-territory partnership with Merlin Entertainments and expanding Peppa Pig World at Paulton’s theme park in the UK with new rides.
