Building on the success of this year’s feature film My Little Pony: The Movie, Hasbro has launched a new digital series (pictured) and doll line inspired by its My Little Pony Equestria Girls brand.
My Little Pony: Equestria Girls, which features 45 episodes, will premiere on YouTube on November 17. A new episode will roll out each Friday following the show’s launch.
In addition to the new show, Hasbro is also launching a new line of Equestria Girls fashion dolls, which will be available for purchase in the US in December before launching globally in January 2018. The dolls have been revamped in partnership with Laura Shuffman, the official My Little Pony: Equestria Girls stylist. The doll line will feature all-new outfits for Sunset Shimmer, Twilight Sparkle, Applejack, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash and Rarity, and these new looks are reflected in the upcoming digital series.
The animated films series My Little Pony: Equestria Girls (distributed on DVD and through digital platforms by Shout! Factory) and subsequent TV specials put a new spin on the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic television series. When a crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, one pony pursues the thief into an alternate world where she transforms into a teenage girl who must chart her way through high school.
