The House of Mouse has tapped Dina Hillier as VP of original series for Disney Channel. Hillier will be responsible for the development of live-action series for multiple distribution platforms.

In her new role, Hillier will work in tandem with Jonas Agin, VP of original series, Disney Channel, and will report to Adam Bonnet, EVP of original programming at Disney Channels Worldwide.

Previously, Hillier served as VP of comedy development and current programming for Paramount Television. At Paramount she worked on Grease: Live, The First Wives Club, School of Rock and Bajillion Dollar Propertie$. She has also held roles in current programming and comedy development at Sony Pictures Television, where she developed and oversaw creative direction on shows including Community and Happy Endings.

In September, Disney Channel’s live-action comedies Stuck in the Middle and BUNK’D received third-season orders. Stuck in the Middle centers on Harley Diaz, the middle child in a family of nine, while BUNK’D follows the adventures of three siblings at a rustic summer camp in Maine.

And, earlier this summer, Disney Channel announced it’s bringing back its popular unscripted docu-series Bug Juice. The show, which is slated to air in early 2018, will focus on a group of kids ages 10 to 12 as they head to Waterford, Maine, to attend Camp Waziyatah. When the Evolution Media-produced reality series initially aired in February 1998, it marked Disney Channel’s foray into unscripted television.
