BBC Worldwide and CBeebies have ordered a third season of popular preschool series Hey Duggee. Produced by London-based animation production company Studio AKA, the 52-episode season will air next fall on CBeebies, followed by other global markets.
Hey Duggee is created and written by Studio AKA senior director Grant Orchard. It follows a huggable dog named Duggee and his squirrel friends on adventures. It is a breakout hit for CBeebies in the UK, consistently ranking as a top three show on the channel. (Amazon Prime Video holds SVOD rights to the toon in the UK and Ireland.)
The show is also available in more than 150 territories including China, where is reaches 470 million subscribers on streaming platforms Tencent and iQIYI. It also airs on Nick Jr. in the US, France 5, ABC Kids in Australia and Cartoonito in Italy.
New episodes from Hey Duggee’s second season will air this fall on CBeebies, including a new Halloween special.
