After pulling in strong ratings among US girls ages six to 14, Disney Channel’s serialized comedy series Andi Mack has been renewed for a second season.
The show—which follows the life of 13-year-old Andi and her overprotective parents—has garnered roughly 40 million views across seven digital platforms, linear TV and social media. The series made its US digital premiere in March, before hitting linear TV on April 7.
Horizon Productions will begin filming season two in July in Salt Lake City. It is executive produced by Terri Minsky (Lizzie McGuire) and Michelle Manning (The Breakfast Club, Adventures in Babysitting). Phil Baker (Good Luck Charlie) is the co-executive producer.
Andi Mack has several upcoming programming events to encourage more viewers, including back-to-back episodes on May 26.
