Peppa Pig continues to globetrot with new international L&M partners and a fresh pipeline of content. Entertainment One (eOne) has inked new licensing agreements for its billion-dollar preschool property while also announcing the production of 117 new episodes.
Animation studio Astley Baker Davies will be producing the new eps, which will air from spring 2019 through to 2023. The new content–launching to coincide with the brand’s 15th anniversary–will bring the total number of Peppa Pig episodes to 381.
In the meantime, new episodes from the show’s seventh season will continue to roll out until the end of 2018.
The property now boasts 87 licensees in the UK alone, and master toy partner Character Options is readying the launch of its new hero product, Peppa‘s Family Home, which hits shelves in July and will be supported with a dedicated TV advertising campaign.
Peppa Pig merchandise recently entered new markets across the Nordics, where Character Options’ toy line is being distributed by Top Toy. Further categories will follow in autumn/winter 2017 including bedding, puzzles and apparel.
The brand generates more than US$1 billion in retail sales each year, with more than 800 licensees worldwide. New episodes, along with the property’s growing licensing program, are part of eOne’s plans to double Peppa Pig sales by 2020.
