The Company has acquired the assets of science and nature exploration products manufacturer Uncle Milton. The Company was formed in February, when Florida-based consumer products marketer The Bridge Direct merged with Canadian toy developer Tech 4 Kids.
Uncle Milton’s portfolio includes STEM-centric brands like The Original Ant Farm, In My Room, Ever Wonder and Star Wars Science (pictured). The Company will take over the Uncle Milton name, brands and product-related intellectual property.
According to The Company, it will continue to operate Uncle Milton from its L.A. office, and a number of key staff members and senior leaders will stay on after the acquisition.
The Bridge Direct focuses on preschool, construction, dolls and activity toys, along with retro playthings featuring Strawberry Shortcake and Fisher-Price Classics. Tech 4 Kids, meanwhile, is the company behind Micro Lites, Mash’ems, Squishy Pops and 3D Magic. According to The Company, Uncle Milton’s portfolio of STEM and licensed products is an excellent addition to its breadth of product lines currently on offer.
The Bridge Direct and Tech 4 Kids merged in order to offer smaller industry players an opportunity to constrain risk, scale up and grow as part of a larger platform. The acquisition of Uncle Milton is the first move in The Company’s accelerated roll-up strategy.
