Under its five-year co-pro partnership with BBC Children’s, London-based FremantleMedia Kids & Family has been commissioned to produce a third season of Danger Mouse. The upcoming series, comprised of 26 x 11-minute eps, will air on CBBC in 2018.
Danger Mouse has sold to more than 100 territories since CBBC revamped it in 2015 after a 22-year hiatus. It is also now available on Netflix in North America, Latin America, Benelux, the Nordics, Poland, Italy and Japan.
The toon follows Danger Mouse and his hamster sidekick Penfold as they save the world over and over again with help from new allies and enemies.
The call for a third series follows less than a year after CBBC commissioned a second season, which will begin airing later this year. Danger Mouse also just picked up an Irish Animation Award for Best Music/Sound Design.
