Discovery Consumer Products and Japanese retailer Uniqlo are going wild with a new apparel line featuring sharks, space and a T-Rex.
The pair is collaborating on a collection of unisex t-shirts for kids ages three to 12. The shirts will be available this month at Uniqlo.com and at retail locations in the US, Europe, China, Japan and Southeast Asia.
The line’s online marketing campaign will include stop-motion videos and GIFs that will be distributed on social media platforms like Facebook, Line (Japan) and WeChat (China). In Japan, customers will also receive a DVD featuring dinosaur-focused content from Discovery Channel with each purchase in Uniqlo stores. It will be further supported by in-store promotions and cross-promotions by the two brands.
Uniqlo has partnered with a number of IP owners over the years, including Sesame Workshop and Warner Bros. Consumer Products. Recently, the global retailer expanded its relationship with Disney Consumer Products to launch a clothing line featuring characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
