Clangers meets Netflix US

A deal between UK-based Coolabi Group and the SVOD giant sees the preschool show premiere today to US subscribers.

The first season of Coolabi Group’s preschool series Clangers will make its premiere today on Netflix in the US.

Season one of the 26 x 22-minute stop-motion show already airs on CBeebies in the UK and Sprout in the US, where its version is narrated by William Shatner.

Clangers was rebooted in June 2015 after an original series run between 1969 and 1972, and a second season is currently underway. The show follows Major, Mother, Small, Tiny and Granny Clanger, who are all small pink mouse-like creatures that speak in whistles and eat a lot of soup.

Coolabi, which holds global rights to the brand, recently launched a #ClangersForKindness campaign involving creative TV ads and YouTube videos. This was on top of selling a range of TY UK gift plush and launching branded books with Penguin Group US.
