UK pubcaster CBeebies has greenlit two seasons of Treasure Champs, a new mixed-media preschool series from Manchester-based indie Three Arrows Media that examines the values found within different faiths and cultures.

Targeting the older end of the CBeebies demo, the 30 x 15-minute series will be executive produced by the pubcaster’s Michael Towner along with Jon Hancock (Mr. Bloom’s Nursery, Swashbuckle) and David Hallam (Fort Boyard: Ultimate Challenge, Mister Maker’s Arty Party) of Three Arrows Media.

In each episode, two comedic animated characters explore a different value, such as generosity, empathy and honesty, under the backdrop of faith-based stories, silly songs and real-life examples featuring children.

CBeebies’ controller Kay Benbow commissioned the series, which will debut in 2018.

Hancock and Hallam founded Three Arrows in 2015, and the company is the first children’s indie in Manchester since the development of MediaCityUK in 2007.
