Nickelodeon UK & Ireland has launched SpongeMaster, a multi-screen SpongeBob SquarePants trivia game that allows players to answer fast-paced questions based on show episodes.

From February 13 to 24, Nicktoons UK viewers will have 25 seconds to answer specific show-related questions in the app. The trivia will take place every hour from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. on weekdays, and will span all 11 minutes of a SpongeBob SquarePants ep.

Developed by Mars Interactive, the iOS and Android app also offers players a chance, if they score high enough, to win an array of tech and SpongeBob-themed prizes.

Marking Nick UK’s first play-along app, SpongeMaster originally launched in Israel and Hungary last summer. Its debut comes as smartphone usage among UK kids continues to soar. According to research agency Childwise’s 2017 Childwise Monitor Report, British kids for the first time are now more likely to access their mobile phones for constant entertainment (music, online access, gaming and video content) than for any other purpose, including texting or calling. The same study found 31% of kids and teens feel compelled to check their mobile devices every few minutes.
