Viacom-owned Channel 5 UK has commissioned a second season of animated series Wissper for its Milkshake! preschool block.

Germany’s m4e and London-based animation studio Cuckoo (Waybuloo), together with Telegael (Ireland), Discreet Art Productions (India) and BASTEI Media(Germany), will produce 52 x seven-minute episodes for a late 2018/early 2019 debut. The show’s first season debuted in the UK in October 2015.

The preschool series follows a young girl named Wissper, who has the ability to communicate with animals. It has inspired a toy line from Simba Smoby that will launch in the UK this spring, and Viacom Consumer Products will announce more licensing partners for the property in the coming months.

The announcement follows news of Channel 5 commissioning a new season of Little Princess. Milkshake! also called for a second season of Toby’s Travelling Circus late last year.
