Robert Langer has been appointed EVP and CFO at Disney/ABC Television Group. He replaces Pete Seymour, who stepped down in November after 20 years with the company.
Langer will be in charge of financial leadership, strategy and business development oversight for the entire Disney/ABC portfolio, which includes ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC Owned Station Group, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Disney/ABC Home Entertainment and Television Distribution, Radio Disney and Freeform. He will also oversee equity interests in A+E and Hulu.
Previously, Langer was Disney’s country manager for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. He originally joined the House of Mouse in 1999 as director of business development and global licensing. He was the chief financial officer for the global Disney Consumer Products division from 2007 to 2009, before becoming GM for DCP EMEA.
Last July, Disney/ABC Television Group bolstered its digital programming initiatives by hiring John Solaro and Roger Tsai, who were tapped to oversee user experience and innovation, and strategy and operations, respectively.
