Broadcasters saddle up for The Ranch’s second season

Zodiak Kids has sold its equestrian-themed show into territories including Canada, Russia, Israel and the Baltics.

Zodiak Kids has announced a number of sales for the second season of its animated series The Ranch.

The 26 x 26-minute episodes were acquired by TFO in Canada and by Lagardere for Gulli Russia and Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Israel. Additionally, Al Jazeera picked up the series for its children and family channels, while AMC Networks International Central Europe acquired the series for its Minimax channel.

The Ranch was also picked up by TV5 Monde for all French-speaking territories, while Kids Zone acquired the series in the Baltics.

Aimed at tween girls, The Ranch follows four teens and their horses at the rescue home they built in the heart of the French countryside. The second season of the series focuses on a young girl named Lena and her struggle to hold onto a horse she rescued but doesn’t own.

The show’s first season sold into more than 30 territories including Poland (Neovision), Flemish Belgium (VRT), Spain (TV3), Sweden (SVT), Finland (YLE), Norway (NRK) and Portugal (Canal Panda).

Zodiak Kids holds worldwide distribution and licensing rights to the series.
