My Knight and Me, a new Medieval comedy series from French producer TeamTO and Belgium’s Thuristar, is riding its way onto global Turner channels, beginning with a Cartoon Network US premiere on January 2.

Distributed by UK-based Cake Entertainment, the 52 x 11-minute series premiered on Turner’s Boomerang in the UK earlier this year. It will debut throughout 2017 on additional Turner networks throughout Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Asia-Pacific

The show follows Jimmy the Squire, his dad Henri of Orange (a knight) and Cat the Princess as they try to make the Dark Ages more fun. It is created and directed by Joeri Christiaen and co-produced with Canal+ Family and TéléTOON+ in France, SuperRTL in Germany and VRT-Ketnet and RTBF-Ouftivi in Belgium.

The Turner acquisition follows Cake’s recent partnership with Diagonal View to form a new digital joint-venture called Popcorn Digital. The JV’s purpose is to create content specifically for online platforms like YouTube. My Knight and Me is also a part of France’s recent domestic production boom that has followed in the wake of grant regulations being overhauled.
