Live-action tween drama The Lodge has been greenlit for a second season by Disney EMEA.

Commissioned by Disney EMEA and produced by Zodiak Kids Studios, The Lodge debuted in the UK in September and was the highest-rated premiere on Disney Channel in the last four years. Season two will begin filming in early 2017, once again in Northern Ireland.

The Lodge follows 15-year-old Skye’s journey as she moves from the big city to a rural life following the death of her mother. The show’s 15 x 22-minute second season will feature a new mystery and more original music, with 12 new songs planned.

Raymond Lau from Zodiak Kids Studios’ UK production arm will return to produce the show, while Steven Andrew (Secret Life of Boys) will serve as executive producer and Lee Walters will continue as head writer.

The Lodge launched simultaneously in Canada in September, followed by a US debut in October. The series will be available in more than 100 countries by the end of this year.
