Mattel Creations has secured the first Latin American distribution deal for its 2D-animated series WellieWishers.

The 26 x 11-minute show for girls ages five to seven was picked up by Mexico’s Televisa, which will launch WellieWishers this month for its Latin-Spanish-speaking audiences.

The Televisa deal sees WellieWishers join a number of Mattel series featuring properties like Barbie, Monster High, Max Steel and Thomas & Friends that are currently airing on  the broadcaster.

Premiering earlier this year on Amazon Prime Video in the US, WellieWishers follows five girls as they play in their aunt’s backyard garden. Each episode features stories and songs, and focuses on the importance of friendship.

Mattel’s American Girl launched a WellieWishers line of dolls, accessories, early chapter books and digital play experiences in June, and the product line is currently available across Mexico. American Girl also recently signed a multi-year, multi-million-dollar production deal with Amazon for four live-action WellieWishers specials.
