L.A.-based The Jim Henson Company is digitally remastering Fraggle Rock for a new generation of fans. And all 96 episodes of this new HD version of the show will air on HBO at the end of the year.

It will also be offered to international buyers for the first time at MIP Jr. and MIPCOM this month.

Fraggle Rock initially premiered on HBO in the US in 1983. The show stars a cast of puppet creatures called Fraggles, and features 100 original songs that mix a number of music genres including folk, blues, gospel, country and rock. Themes of friendship, tolerance, diversity and environmentalism are explored by the characters through the original tunes.

The series was remastered in HD by L.A.-based post-production and film restoration studio, illuminate.

This isn’t the first time The Jim Henson Company has taken the Fraggles to HD. Last year, the company remastered two of its classic Christmas movies—Emmet Otter’s Jug-Band Christmas and The Bells of Fraggle Rock—for broadcast as part of ABC Family’s 25 Days of Christmas stunt.

Recent Henson credits include Sid the Science Kid, Dinosaur Train and Pajanimals, as well as preschool series Doozers and Netflix original Word Party.
