Toronto, Canada-based 9 Story Media Group has sold the broadcast rights for hit animated series Wild Kratts to Chinese national broadcaster China Central Television (CCTV) along with securing new digital sales and a licensing agent for the IP in the territory.

CCTV will begin airing the series on its CCTV-14 kids channel weekdays.

For digital sales signed in partnership with Beijing-based Pacific Media Group, Youku and Alibaba have snapped up exclusive deals for seasons one to three of the series, while other leading Chinese platforms including CNTV, iqiyi, LeTV, PPTV and SMG have acquired season four.

Pacific Media Group has also been appointed as Wild Kratts’ licensing agent for China and will look to find new local licensees and secure distribution for the brand’s existing merchandise, including products from master toy partner Wicked Cool Toys.

The deals come as the fifth season of Wild Kratts is currently in production.
