Toronto, Canada-based Breakthrough Entertainment has expanded its distribution team by hiring kids media exec Caroline Tyre as senior director of international sales and acquisitions.
Reporting to the company’s VP of distribution Craig McGillivray, Tyre will be responsible for managing sales of Breakthrough content in Europe, Oceania and South America.
Tyre is the former director of business development at marblemedia, which she joined in September 2013. She has also previously served as an acquisitions consultant for eOne, as well as director of programming for Teletoon. Earlier in her career, Tyre worked as a sales manager at Canadian pubcaster CBC and as a sales executive at DHX Media.
McGillivray told Kidscreen sister publication Playback Daily that the amount of new content Breakthrough intends to bring to market in the coming weeks necessitated the hire. Tyre’s first major assignment will be next month’s MIPCOM.
