PlayMonster has acquired Automoblox, a line of collectible wooden toy vehicles that feature build-and-mix interchangeable parts. The deal marks the third acquisition in less than two years for Wisconsin-based PlayMonster (formerly Patch Products).

Each Automoblox vehicle has a wooden body and includes multiple interchangeable components including tires, rotors and calipers. The line features sports cars, trucks, sedans and emergency vehicles. The toys are intended for kids ages three and up, and as a collectible, are designed to appeal to older children as well as adults.

PlayMonster plans to expand Automoblox’s retail distribution via online and bricks-and-mortar outlets. The toy and game company designs, manufactures and markets products including Yeti in my Spaghetti, Stratego, My Fairy Garden and Wooly Willy.

Earlier this year, while operating as Patch Products, PlayMonster acquired L.A.-based Roominate and its tech-centric construction toy of the same name.
