Streaming service Hulu has acquired the exclusive US SVOD rights to international co-production Sydney Sailboat in a deal with the series’ North American distributor, Bejuba! Entertainment.

Co-produced by Australia’s Essential Media and Entertainment, Ideate Media, Telegael, and Lemon Sky in association with Shambles Communications, the 52 x 11-minute animated preschool series will be available on Hulu on September 26.

The ABC-commissioned series (formerly Bubble Bath Bay) first launched in the US in September 2015 exclusively on NBCU’s 24-hour preschool network Sprout.

Sydney Sailboat made its Australian television debut on ABC Kids in March 2015 and has had more than one million views on ABC Kids’ catch-up service iview this year alone.

In March, Sony Pictures Television acquired the series for its UK-based preschool channel Tiny Pop in a deal encompassing all broadcast rights in the UK, Ireland, South Africa, and 50 other pan-African territories.

UK-based Raydar Media manages all distribution and consumer products rights for Sydney Sailboat for all territories excluding North America.

Sydney Sailboat products were introduced for the first time earlier this year at the Melbourne Toy Fair, thanks to the series’ newly appointed L&M agent for Australia and New Zealand, The Fusion Agency.
