Dion Vlachos has been upped to EVP of retail sales, marketing and publishing at Nickelodeon.
Based in New York, Vlachos will manage the development of Nick’s retail business and lead sales efforts for key IPs like PAW Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and SpongeBob SquarePants.
Vlachos joined Nickelodeon as SVP of retail sales and marketing in 2013 and will continue reporting to consumer products president and chief marketing officer Pam Kaufman.
Through overseeing all mass, specialty, e-commerce and emerging retail accounts, Vlachos has helped the net’s retail business achieve double-digit growth for three consecutive years. He has also been responsible for the Nickelodeon US Publishing licensed business.
Prior to Nick, Vlachos spent more than two decades at Disney. Among his titles was VP of franchise development and global marketing for Disney Publishing Worldwide, where he led brand strategies and campaigns for franchise like Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh.
Vlachos’ move is the most recent in a series of promotions at Nick. Recently, Ron Hines and Zane Jensch moved up the executive ladder when they were named VP of creative development for Nickelodeon Experience Design and VP and creative director of attractions and exhibits for Nickelodeon Experience Design, respectively. Earlier this year Kristi Wasmer was named SVP of retail sales for Nickelodeon Consumer Products.
