Disney Channel has greenlit Andi Mack, a new single-cam, live-action series for tweens from Lizzie McGuire creator Terri Minsky.

The series, which will begin shooting this fall in Salt Lake City, Utah, is expected to launch on Disney Channel in 2017.

Starring 12-year-old newcomer Peyton Elizabeth Lee (pictured) in the title role, Andi Mack kicks off as Andi is about to turn 13, but her world turns upside down when her wayward older sister Bex (Lilan Bow, pictured) comes home to get her life together.

Michelle Manning (Adventures in Babysitting, Teen Beach 2) is the show’s executive producer.

Additional cast members include Lauren Tom (Friends) as Andi’s mother Celia, Joshua Rush (The Lion Guard) as Cyrus and Asher Angel (Jolene) as Jonah Beck.

Minsky has also been the creative force behind TV’s Less Than Perfect, The Geena Davis Show for ABC and MTV’s Finding Carter.
