Brisbane to host Asian Animation Summit

The coastal capital of Queensland, Australia, Brisbane is set to host this year's edition of the Asian Animation Summit.

Asian Animation Summit 2016 is heading down under as the fifth-annual event will take place in Brisbane, Australia from November 22 to 24.

The three-day summit will once again showcase 24 brand-new animated and mixed-media TV and web series projects targeting kids up to 15 years old from Australia, Korea, Malaysia, Thailand and additional countries across the Asia-Pacific region.

Currently open for submissions, AAS 2016 is being sponsored by hosting partners Screen Queensland and Brisbane Marketing, and has the ongoing support of producing partners Korean cultural agency KOCCA, Malaysia’s MDeC and Thailand’s SIPA/DITP.

The Kidscreen-owned and produced summit expects to attract more than 200 attendees, including producers, broadcasters, distributors and investors from the region and beyond.

Along with networking and pitching sessions, the event’s schedule will include panel discussions and presentations that examine new market trends, business models and creative techniques across the children’s industry in the region.
