With Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows hitting theaters later this week, Nickelodeon and Canadian video game developer Ludia have launched  iOS game app  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legends.

Available worldwide (excluding Japan and China), the combat game pits the Turtles against Kraang Prime, who has a nefarious scheme to destroy Earth. The collectible-style free game allows players to gather more than 35 character and enemy cards from the Nick TV series and the upcoming film, which are then used to unleash new moves, explore different environments and play as new characters.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legends also has a toys-to-life element, wherein Playmates Toys’ five-inch movie-based action figures contain in-package codes that unlock game rewards.

The game is the latest branded experience produced by FremantleMedia-owned Ludia, which is also behind Jurassic World: The Game, Jurassic Park Builder, Dragons: Rise of Berk and Kung Fu Panda: Battle of Destiny.
