Quebec City, Canada-based animation studio Squeeze has licensed its 52 x one-minute 3D-animated comedy series Cracké to Disney EMEA.
Beginning next month, the slapstick series will broadcast on Disney Channels in nearly 100 countries and territories in Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Created and produced in-house by Squeeze, Cracké follows the humorous antics of a nervous ostrich dad named Ed who wants nothing more than to protect his eight yet-to-hatch babies.
A mobile game and a mobile animated comic book based on the series are also expected to launch and a second season is currently in development.
The series is supported in Canada by Teletoon, the Canada Media Fund, the Quebec Refundable Tax Credit for Film and Television Production, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, the Bell Fund and the National Bank.
Animation and video game industry veterans Denis Doré and Patrick Beaulieu founded Squeeze in 2011.
