Australian toyco Headstart International has named California-based toymaker Jakks Pacific as the exclusive US distributor of its new Ooshies line of collectibles.

The multi-year agreement gives Jakks the license to promote, market and sell Ooshies in various channels throughout the US. Jakks is no stranger to the booming collectibles market, as the company is currently moving Tsum Tsum stackable and collectible figures, which feature hundreds of stylized Disney characters, into mass-market channels, following a limited launch in late 2015. 

The small Ooshies characters already feature licenses like Nickelodeon’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, as well as those from a crop of Warner Bros. Consumer Products properties.

Headstart distributes toys from other companies based on brands like Little Tikes, Baby Born and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in Australia, and also manufactures its own licensed products for the Australian market.
