Henson Independent Properties (HIP), The Jim Henson Company’s third-party licensing banner, has secured new media partnerships for its preschool series Lily’s Driftwood Bay and Elias: Rescue Team Adventures that span the US, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.
For Elias, which is produced by Norway’s Animando in partnership with Icelandic animation studio Caoz Animation, Spanish-language television network Vme TV has snapped up exclusive basic cable rights to the 52 x 11-minute series for the US Hispanic market. In Asia, POD Worldwide has acquired exclusive free-TV rights for Thailand, while Media Corp has taken exclusive free-TV rights for Singapore.
A final deal for Elias was signed with Eastern Europe’s Tring TV, which has licensed the series for free TV, basic cable and basic satellite in Albania.
Partners already on-board Elias include Ireland’s TG4, Finland’s MTV Oy, Sweden’s SVT and Thailand’s United Home Entertainment.
For the 52 x 11-minute mixed-media series Lily’s Driftwood Bay from Northern Ireland’s Sixteen South, Discovery Education has inked a deal with Henson for global educational rights.
Additionally, NCircle has bought the US DVD rights, DAAI TV has picked up exclusive free-TV rights for Indonesia, and Multichoice Africa has acquired non-exclusive SVOD and AVOD rights for Africa.
These latest deals follow a raft of international sales secured by Henson earlier this year for preschool programs Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid and Pajanimals.
