More Dragon Ball goods to roll through LatAm

Toei Animation continues to expand its licensing footprint in the LatAm region for its Dragon Ball series through the addition of a fresh crop of licensees.

Toei Animation, the L.A.-based licensing arm of Japan’s Toei Animation Co., continues to expand its licensing footprint in the LatAm region for its Dragon Ball series.

The latest group of licensees on-board for the hit anime TV franchise, which is getting a new installment this year—Dragon Super Ball—for the first time in nearly 20 years, covers a range of back-to-school categories.

In Brazil, Art Bag (Clio) will produce PVC bags, as well as polyester pencil cases and lunch bags for the mass market, department stores, distributors and gift shops.

Over in Chile, Pronobel S.A. has picked up the license for plastic plates, pencil cases, backpacks, fabric lunch boxes and toys, all of which will be available at department stores, supermarkets and gift stores.

Meanwhile in Peru, Corporacion de Industrias will make recreation balls, school folders and cardboard folders with elastic closures for wholesalers, retailers, department stores, convenient stores and club stores; Anthaix is in for back-to-school items destined for department stores, mass market, toy stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets, wholesalers and specialty stores; and Continental will design stapled notebooks and sketch books, as well as spiral sketchbooks for wholesalers, department stores, toy stores, supermarkets, hypermarkets and gift stores.

North of the equator, Grupo Yadatex S.A. de C.V. has picked up rights to make backpacks, pencil cases, lunch bags and suitcases for wholesalers, mass market retailers, department stores, supermarkets and specialty stores in Mexico. And Carvajal Educacion S.A. DE C.V. (Norma) will manufacture double-wire notebooks for Mexican department stores, specialty stores, mid-tier retail stores, high-end department stores, mass market retailers, club stores and wholesalers.

Additionally, Toei has also inked a deal with Importadora y Exportadora Rosen for back-to-school supplies across all of Central America and the Caribbean.
