Nickelodeon has greenlit a pair of TV movies based on two of its classic properties – animated series Hey Arnold! and game show Legends of the Hidden Temple – while also teaming with Macy’s and NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony on a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles-inspired boys apparel and accessories line.

The plot for the new live-action movie Legends of the Hidden Temple (pictured) is inspired by the original game show, which aired from 1993 to 1995 and saw kids competing to retrieve artifacts from a mysterious Mayan temple. The story will follow three siblings who break away from a lackluster temple tour in a jungle and find themselves in a real-life, high-stakes mission comprised of obstacles that they must complete in order to stay alive.

Starring Nick own’s Isabela Moner (100 Things To Do Before High School), the movie will also feature elements from the original game show including Olmec, a talking head who knows the secrets behind the temple; The Steps of Knowledge, the entrance to the temple and launching pad for the mission; and cameos from a green monkey, red jaguar and silver snakes, among others.

Legends of the Hidden Temple will be executive produced by Scott McAboy and Jessica Rhoades, and production is scheduled to begin this month.

As for the Hey Arnold!, the two-part animated movie first announced last November picks up where the original series ended with Arnold finally getting answers about the whereabouts of his missing parents. Written and executive produced by the series’ creator Craig Bartlett and produced at the new, state-of-the art Nickelodeon Animation Studios in Burbank, the two-hour long movies will premiere in 2017.

And on the retail front, Nick’s collaboration with Macy’s and Carmelo Anthony, entitled TMNT x Melo, includes graphic t-shirts, hoodies, shorts, pajama sets and socks, as well as basketballs and an over-the-door basketball hoop. It launches in early May and will be available for a limited time only at all Macy’s stores and via macys.com. Items will range in price from US$20 to US$35.
