With five million subscribers and 16 million daily views under its belt, YouTube channel Little Baby Bum is making its foray into the world of publishing following a deal with Parragon for a line of children’s story and activity books.

As master publishing partner, Parragon, which licenses books from such heavy hitters as Disney, Marvel, Mattel, The World of Eric Carle and Discovery Kids, will develop content based on the Little Baby Bum nursery rhyme episodes and cast of characters, and themes will marry both traditional and technological play. A limited selection of titles – based on the channel’s most-viewed content – will start hitting shelves this fall.

In spring 2017, Parragon will unveil a broader range of interactive formats, which will include board books, sound books, activity books and more.

Since launching in August 2011, Little Baby Bum has risen to become one of the highest spots in the Top 100 YouTube rankings for education, and the channel is a fixture in the increasingly important nursery rhyme sector that is flourishing on the Google-owned platform.

The deal was brokered by Surge Licensing, the worldwide licensing agent for Little Baby Bum owner El Bebe Productions. The Little Baby Bum animated pre-school series consists of a huge and fast-expanding library with over 250 3D-HD animated videos in English plus an additional 200+ videos in Spanish, German, Portuguese and Russian.
