UK-based Zodiak Kids Studios has entered into a development and production partnership with London-based content company Airside Andy for its original preschool property of the same name.

Created by Robert Cooper and Peter Le Masurier, the multiplatform IP recently launched digitally as a massively multiplayer online game (MMO) for PC and iOS and Android devices. The game was developed by Flying Squirrel Games and Technicolor, in association with Airside Andy, and it is aimed at kids ages three to eight.

A new Airside Andy TV series will encompass a 52 x 10-minute preschool show, as well as new game apps.

Airside Andy follows the lives of a group of ground-based airport vehicles and their fearless leader Andy, who as airport controller, helps his friends work together to ensure the smooth, daily operation of the airport. The property also helps young children develop a better understanding of concepts connected to social and emotional learning (SEL), and science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM).

In addition to the new Airside Andy online game, gaming pods equipped with child-proof interactive tablets loaded with Airside Andy and additional games have launched at airports in Manchester and Newcastle in England. Additional pods are expected to roll out later this year across Swissport Aspire lounges.

The Airside Andy property and series was initially introduced at MIPTV by Greg Lynn’s Adrenalynn Entertainment in 2013, but Lynn is no longer involved with the IP.
