French studio Vivement Lundi! has secured a distribution deal with Paris-based distributor Superights for its half-hour animated special The Horn Quartet, which will also be turned into a 10 x three-minute web series.
Introduced at Cartoon Forum last September, and adapted from a book series by Yves Cotton, the 2D-animated preschool special follows the story of four cows who discover freedom and friendship after leaving the comfort of their meadow to embark on a beach adventure.
The Horn Quartet is written by Nathalie Dargent (Lulu Vroumette, Crafty Kids Club) and directed by Benjamin Botella (Welcome to Bric-a-Broc) with the participation of Canal+ and France 3 Bretagne.
Superrights will also distribute the program as a fun, educational 2D-animated web series presented in a documentary-style format under the direction of Céline Dréan (Tell Me Dimitri).
