The rebooted Bob the Builder preschool series from Mattel-owned HIT Entertainment is set to air on France 5, as well as on several other channels across Europe.

Aside from France 5, the series has been sold to Z@pplin (Netherlands), VRT (Belgium), Rai YoYo (Italy), E-TV (South Africa), MiniMini (Poland),Turner (UK) and RTE (Ireland) and Israel’s Hop!

The deals follow on the heels of Mattel’s future co-development and co-production deal for Bob the Builder with Canada’s DHX Media, which was inked last month. The agreement will see new episodic, short-form and long-form programming based on Bob the Builder produced for television and digital platforms, with DHX handling all future global distribution for the series.

Since launching this past fall (after revealing its new look on YouTube in August), the new CGI-animated series has already doubled the average channel ratings in the UK on Channel 5’s Milkshake block and has seen a 101% ratings increase over the classic show on PBS KIDS in the US.
