Zodiak Kids has signed a raft of European pre-sales for the second season of  animated equestrian-adventure series The Ranch.

Aimed at girls aged six to 10, the new 26 x 26-minute season has been picked up by Neovision (Poland), VRT (Flemish Belgium), TV3 (Spain), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), NRK (Norway), Canal Panda (Portugal) and Just Bridge (DVD Germany). TF1 (France) has also renewed the first 26 x 26-minute season.

The Ranch is co-produced by UK-based Zodiak Kids Studios, Zodiak-owned Télé Images Productions and ARD in Germany. Season two will launch on TF1 (France) and KiKA (Germany) in 2016.

The show follows a young girl named Lena, who struggles to hold onto Mistral, the black stallion she saved and loves dearly. However, since she doesn’t own the horse, it could be taken at any moment, so Lena and her three teenage friends seek refuge in her grandpa’s abandoned home in the forest, which they nickname the ranch.

Zodiak Kids will be looking to replicate the international success of the first season, which has been sold into more than 30 territories, including Ciwen (China), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), RTS (Switzerland), Noga (Israel), POP TV (Slovenia), BBC Alba (UK), NRK (Norway), VRT (Belgium), ORF (Austria), Super 3 (Spain) and Canal Panda (Portugal).

Zodiak Kids holds worldwide distribution and licensing rights for property. On the consumer products side, The Ranch is repped in France by TF1 Licenses and CPLG in Germany.
