UK-based Jetpack Distribution has snapped up global broadcast rights, excluding Asia, for the CGI-animated series based on Outfit7’s popular app brand Talking Tom and Friends.
The 52 x 11-minute series Talking Tom and Friends features the popular characters from the franchise, which boasts three million app downloads and more than 300 million views for its online videos. It was also one of the first series featured on the YouTube Kids app when it launched earlier this year.
Created and produced by Outfit7 and Vienna, Austria’s arx anima, with writing from Tom Martin (WordGirl, The Simpsons), Talking Tom and Friends follows the adventures, hijinks and inventions of Talking Tom and the gang as they shoot their own reality television show.
The series features the voices of Colin Hanks (Life In Pieces, Fargo), Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants, Adventure Time With Finn & Jake), Lisa Schwartz (Party Girl), James Adomian (Comedy Bang Bang! Gravity Falls) and Maria Bamford (Lady Dynamite, WordGirl).
