Dublin, Ireland-based Monster Entertainment has inked a deal with global education leader Houghton Mifflin Harcourt to bring the preschool toon The Day Henry Met? to the company’s newly launched subscription-based content service Curious World.
Produced by Irish animation company Wiggleywoo, The Day Henry Met? will be included as part of Curious World’s iPad and iPhone app experience for kids ages three to seven.
Launched in October, Curious World is a free-to-download app, featuring a curated collection of videos, games and eBooks framed around eight key learning areas such as math, science, creative expression and family and community.
The Day Henry Met?, which premiered on Ireland’s RTÉjr in July, follows an inquisitive young boy who encounters someone or something new in every episode like a whale, a postman, a knight or the moon.
Since its debut, the series has been snapped up by Nick Jr. (UK), SVT (Sweden), YLE (Finland), TVO and Knowledge Network (Canada), Nickelodeon and ABC (Australia) and Eesti (Estonia).
Along with winning The Pulcinella Award for Best European Work at Cartoons on the Bay this year, the Nick Jr. program is currently the top-rated preschool series in Australia.
Curious World has also acquired Canadian series Hippothesis from Toronto, Canada-based animation studio Yowza.
