Lizzie McGuire creator Terri Minsky is returning to Disney Channel to bow a new untitled single-camera pilot aimed at kids and tweens that will begin production early next year.

Minsky and Michelle Manning (Disney Channel’s upcoming movie Adventures in Babysitting, Teen Beach 2) will serve as executive producers for the pilot, which stars newcomer Peyton Elizabeth Lee (pictured) in the lead role as Andi Marcus.

Marcus is about to celebrate her 13th birthday, and she’s eager to have a little teenage fun and adventure – much to the chagrin of her strict mother. Andi’s older sister, Bex, dropped out of school as a teen, left home, and now in her late 20s, still doesn’t know what she wants out of life. When Bex returns home and swears she is ready to get her life together, Andi’s life is turned upside down and leaves her questioning everything she’s ever known.

The series echoes some adolescent sentiments that drove Lizzie McGuire and its star Hilary Duff’s massive appeal during the series’ original Disney Channel run between 2001 and 2004.
