Portland, Oregon-based children’s app-maker Night & Day Studios has launched pinball maze game Wirly on the new Apple TV, which hit the market last week. Targeting kids of all ages, Night & Day Studios created the app specifically for the new platform.
In the game, main character Wirly rolls and spins through mazes while slipping past color-locked gates, breaking bricks and collecting coins in an effort to find her lost friends. Gameplay involves tilting the TV’s remote to move through twists and turns, overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
Wirly features 20 unique mazes that increase in difficulty, as well as an original soundtrack with nine new songs. Designed exclusively for Apple tvOS (the app store for the new Apple TV), Wirly looks to engage gamers with rich colors, a responsive remote and innovative problem solving.
Night & Day Studios is best-known for its 2008 toddler app Peekaboo Barn, which has grown into a larger franchise encompassing a board book from Candlewick Press, a print on-demand store from Zazzle.com, and soon toys and games will be created for the IP. The indie developer/publisher has also made apps for popular kids brands such as Scooby-Doo, Batman, Sesame Street, and in 2016 it will release early-learning apps for Care Bears and Octonauts.
