Random House picks up Stampy Cat books

Random House Books for Young Readers has picked up US rights to publish Stampy's Lovely Book from Egmont, penned by internet gaming star Joseph Garrett (aka Stampy Cat).

Random House Books for Young Readers has secured US rights to publish Stampy’s Lovely Book, penned by internet gaming star Joseph Garrett aka Stampy Cat.

The book is part of a two-part series, and through negotiations with Maker Studios and Egmont Publishing in the UK (which owns global rights in all languages),Random House Books for Young Readers will publish the first title Stampy’s Lovely Book on January 5, 2016. A name/date has not been released for the second title.

The books will feature comic strips, activities and exclusive information about the 23-year-old and his friends, depicting his fun-loving personality.

Egmont Publishing is releasing the first title today and the second is slated for 2016.

Stampy Cat is regarded as one of the biggest names in family-friendly entertainment. His YouTube channel stampylonghead boasts more than 6.5 million subscribers and 4.1 billion views. In 2014, his channel cracked the top 10 worldwide for most-viewed.

Garrett has been making videos under the moniker Stampy Cat since 2006. Along with Maker Studios, he also co-created the Wonder Quest YouTube channel, which features three original series.
