Zodiak Kids has sold the SVOD rights to more than 150 episodes of CBeebies hits Waybuloo and Mister Maker to European pay-TV giant Sky for the UK and Ireland, and renewed SVOD rights for three series with Hulu in the US.
The deal with Sky will see seasons one to three of arts & crafts preschool series Mister Maker become available through Sky On Demand and via the Sky Go mobile TV service.
Zodiak Kids Studios UK is currently in production on a 26 x 19-minute seventh season of the program entitled Mister Maker’s Arty Party.
In addition, 100 eps of preschool animated series Waybuloo (pictured) will also head to Sky’s on-demand service and Sky Go.
In the US, streaming service Hulu has re-licensed the rights to Zodiak Kids properties Gormiti, Waybuloo and season one of Horrid Henry.
The deals fall in line with Sky’s recently announced commitment to boost its on-demand portfolio for kids from 700 to 4,000 titles, and come on the heels of its plan to launch a dedicated kids app to rival YouTube and Netflix.
Hulu, meanwhile, has been extremely busy growing its own children’s library, inking new deals with Canada’s 9 Story Media Group, Cartoon Network and Endemol Shine to name a few.
